Custom URL Protocol to perform actions

Feature Description:

Using custom URL protocol, similar to steam browser protocol.
From a browser, we would need to :

  • launch an OW app, or if not installed, install it via overwolf://run/<appid>
  • trigger an arbitrary event on OW so windows that listen to it can react overwolf://trigger/<event>/<value>.

That obviously only works when OW is installed.

Impact for my app: very low, it’s a nice to have, but not mandatory we can workaround !

note for stuff: after FR is accepted, add a link to the internal ticket.

hi @Sorikairox,

I will add it to a future roadmap, so we will be able to implement it on the long run.
Meanwhile, i will close the ticket.

Hey @eransharv - is there any update on this?

@Glide currently there is no progress on that. I don’t think that we are going to see it implemented soon.
Currently, the only available thing is to launch an OW app from the command line or launch some app when OW is launched.
