Make your app on the store "Un-Downloadable"

  • Feature Description:
    Allow app creators, to publish an app to the store, but make it unavailable to download.
    This means it will be visible on the store, but the download button will be grayed out and unclickable.
    This will allow app creators to have store presence even if the app isn’t ready yet, and would also allow app creators to hype up the launch of a new app!

  • impact for my app: [low, mid, high, show-stopper].
    Low - we always have the ability to publish an app to the store that has 1 page with the text “Coming soon” but it doesn’t have the same impact because a user expects to be able to use the app if he downloaded it.

We’ve added this feature to our backlog, and will let you know as it progresses.

Keep in mind that this might take a while, since it will involve the adjustment of many different moving parts, to make sure it’s executed in the best way possible.
